Samantha Walker Friday Tutorial!

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas and are on your way from recovering from food comatose...I know I am trying.  Today I want to share with you a very cute and simple way to dress up those glassine bags and right in time to get ready for the next holiday...Valentine's Day!

For this tutorial I used Samantha Walker's Grand Impressabilities from Spellbinders.  The Impressabilities I used were the:

This was so easy and a fun way to add an extra special touch to your bags.  First off grab your gray stack plate and the Impressabilie you are using.  Make sure the ridged cutting edge is up on the Impressabilitie you are using.

Next, grab your glassine bag and put it face down or on the side you want to be the front.  Sorry the images look so funny.  These die cuts are shiny and  have a glare to them.

Then, take the Tan Embossing Mat and put it on top of the Impressabilitie.

Finally, stack the Pink Embossing Plate on top of all of it.  Now, you are ready to emboss!

Send it on through your Grand Calibur making sure you keep it flat and straight.  Then remove all of the layers to see your bag.

This is how mine turned out.

So cute huh?  I am quite pleased!  Now for the embellishing!  I used Samantha Walker's Paris Girl Collection from Carta Bella because I thought it was perfect to turn these bags into Valentine's Day bags.

See the fun little tag on this last one?  It is also one of Samantha Walker's.  This one is a Silhouette file.  I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and have fun with your Valentine's Day projects and don't forget to add a little Samantha Walker...cause it's fun :)  Please check out Samantha's Facebook Page as well as Samantha's Blog for more ideas.

A banner to help celebrate the New Year!

Hey all...hope you have a had a wonderful Christmas! Today I want to share with you a fun way to help you decorate for the New Year Holiday.

I created this banner using my Silhouette and GCD Studios!  First I thought I might dress it up a little more, then when it was finished I really liked how it looked.  It was really easy and that's what I think we all like, especially during the holiday season.  This can be done quickly if you are looking for something to help decorate your New Year's party.

I found these cuts in my Silhouette library.  I had purchased them a little while ago knowing I would use them  to make something.  The only thing  I did, was make the pendants the size I wanted and added letters inside of the pendants so my Silhouette machine would cut them out.  I then added cardstock to the back of them so you were able to see the letters better.  Finally, I tied the pendants together with some twine.  So simple.

I hope you have a fabulous New Year celebrating with friends and family and remember GCD Studios is there to help you out.

Authentique and Clear Scraps!

I have to admit...I have never worked with anything that Clear Scraps.  I know...what was I thinking?  I think I was intimidated by the "clear" thing.  Now, I am so glad I did because I have more of their product in my stash and I love how my project turned out.  My project was originally suppose to be a card, but it turned into something else.

Well...it's kind of a picture holder thingy...lol.  I guess it can be used as a card :)

So, to dress up this blank card, I added some paint around the edges of the acrylic card and inked my patterned paper.  I simply glued the pieces of paper where I wanted them.  I used the new and gorgeous Lovely Collection It was easier than I thought and not so intimidating.  I am no pro like the Clear Scraps Design Team, so head over to the Clear Scraps Blog and see how they used Authentique and Clear Scraps together.  Make sure you are leaving comments on both the Clear Scraps Blog and Authentique Blog for a chance to win some prizes!  Thanks for stopping by!

Helmar and Simple Stories Team up!

Helamar and Simple Stories are teaming up to show you how well these two companies work together.  I created this fun festive banner, perfect for decorating for the holidays.  This banner took a lot of gluing and so I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.  Boy, does this stuff stick and dry fast too.  I glued patterned paper around my spools and well as using the glue to put my snowflake flowers together.  I made this banner using the Handmade Holiday Collection. This banner is not going to come apart at all, so I can enjoy it for years to come.

Make sure you are checking out what the rest of the design team created over at the Simple Stories Blog.  Then hop on over to the Helmar Blog to see what their design team created!  Make sure you go to the Simple Stories Facebook Page and Helmar Facebook Page and like them.  Leave comments on both of their blogs for a chance to win an awesome prize pack! Getting Cheery with Imaginisce Christmas Cards

Have you been checking out all the fabulous Christmas inspiration taking place on the Imaginisce Blog?  If not you should.  I love, love, love cards and I can never get enough of them, especially this time of the year.  My hubby and kids are always asking me if I have any cards that they can have to give to family and friends.  Now, I am adding to my stash, but they may not stick around too long.  They are bound to get used.  I created both of these cards using the Christmas Cheer Collection and the oh so fabulous I-Top (what did I ever do without it).  Here's a look :)

Look how fabulous that brad looks in the center of that snowflake.  Told ya the I-Top is amazing!

I cut the snowflakes and doily out using my Silhouette.  I used the Christmas Cheer Collection to create the cards.  Thanks for stopping by today and get making those cards cause you are gonna need them.
