Good Morning Carta Bella fans, today I want to share with you a quick way to make a vintage looking border using the new Designer Die Yesterday Frame Die Set.
Choose the patterned papers you would like to use. I used Carta Bella’s new Yesterday Collection to make my border. I used two different patterned papers. Cut out about six of the frames from two different patterned papers.
Next you need to decide how you want your border to look and then space it out without gluing it down to get a feel for what you want it to look like.
Once you have it the way you’d like it to look, glue it down, but I suggest you only put a small amount of glue in the middle of the back of the die cuts. This will allow you to slide the other die cut pieces underneath. I also adhered the frame part of the die cuts to make it pop more. I used the opposite side of the patterned paper to define the frame.
If there where any areas that I felt needed more glue, then I added more. When I was done adhering everything and the glue dried, I cut of the excess that hung over the paper. This is what it ended up looking like. I also made a border for the bottom part of my layout.
Here is a look at the whole layout. I left the design team banner off this one so you could see the border on the bottom.
Here are some close ups of some of the details of my layout.
