Make a cute Valentines banner using new Silhouette Designs!

Have you checked out the Silhouette store recently? If you have...chances are you have seen some of Samantha's new die cuts. If you haven't, well you are missing out. I suggest you check out Samantha's Portfolio.

Today, I have a fun project to share with you I made using Samantha's Ooh La La Collection from Creative Imaginations and several of her new die cuts and some Maya Road envelopes. This Ooh La La Collection is so gorgeous and perfect for Valentines Day and in combination with her new Valentine die cuts, makes for a super cute project. These are the die cuts I used.

Here is my banner!

Do you want to make a Valentines Love Banner like this? So simple and easy, especially when you can cut most of it out!

First off, I picked the die cuts I wanted to use, sized them and then cut them. Again, the ones I used for this banner are above and can be found in Samantha's Portfolio.

For the first part of the banner I used an envelope. I cut the Border Hearts from my Silhouette and adhered lace to the the border and onto the envelope. I also adhered lace to the underside of the envelope flap. I embellished it by adding pearls, hearts, a little key trinket and twine. The patterned paper I used is from the Ooh La La Collection. You can really make this your own and embellish it any way you would like.

For second part of this banner I used Samantha's Card Fancy Occasion Hearts die cut. I then cut the label out (one of Samantha's found here) and used the Love sticker label from her Ooh La La Collection. I added some more hearts and pearls as well.

For the third part, I used another envelope from Maya Road. Behind the envelope flap I added paper from the Ooh La La Collection. Then over the top of the flap I added the Doily Heart Lace Edge die cut. Once again, I embellished with pearls, hearts and twine.

For the fourth part I used one of Samantha's card die cuts, the Card Circle Valentine. I made a rolled rose, adhered lace around the rose and put it in the center of the card. The Romance word is a rub on and paper used to make the rose are from the Ooh La La Collection. I added some more pearls too.

I wanted to use the card as an added touch to the banner, well...as a card too! I label sticker is from the Ooh La La Collection and the title is Samantha's. You can find it here.

For the last part of of this banner, I used another envelope. I added more lace under the envelope flap. I cut the tag out, one of Samantha's found here. I added paper and epoxy stickers from the Ooh La La Collection. I embellished the tag with a lock and key trinket as well as more twine. Then I connected the whole banner by punching small circle holes in all the corners and tying it together with ribbon! Viola... a super cute Valentines Banner!

Wonderful Wednesday is all about feature projects made by Samantha's Creative Crafters using her new digital collections. This week she is featuring the Foundations Gray Baby and Orchard Harvest Autumn Leave Paper Pack.

I have really enjoyed creating digital pages...even though I am no pro by any means. Still a newbie...but it has been fun. I created a layout using Foundations Gray Baby Paper Pack. Let me tell you...these collections are gorgeous and so easy to use.

A little while ago, I got the opportunity to play around with Adornit's Happy Hearts Paper Collection and the Fabric Collection. The colors and designs were right up my alley, so it was so easy to create projects that I could be proud of. Check out Carolee and Jackie as they talk about the Happy Hearts Collection. If you haven't heard much from me in the last week it was because I was on a Caribbean Cruise with my hubby. Let me say it was nothing short of amazing, beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, yummy food and loads of fun! Now, it is back to the grind and cold...ahhh. Just have to say I am missing this....

This Saturday I am headed to California to CHA with the Adornit Girls. I am so excited to share this fun experience with them. They have been so good to me. Come by and say hi!

Meet Jan. GDT member – Guiseppa

Today Scrapbook Circle would love to introduce you to the January GDT member, Guiseppa. Let’s get to know her better, shall we?!

I have been married for to my husband Sam for nearly 14 years. Together we have 2 children and an Angel. Braden is 15, Janica is 13, and my youngest, Sterling, would have been 10. He passed away March 2005 at the age of 3. He struggled with SCIDS otherwise known as “The Bubble Boy Disease.” Although I miss him every day I have been able to cherish and preserve all of the special moments and experiences I have had with him through my scrapbooking. I have been scrapbooking for the last 16 years and in that amount of time I have created over 70 albums and have seen the industry go through some amazing changes.

I have had the opportunity to design for some kit clubs as well as manufactures; Pebbles Inc, Zva Creative, Fancy Pants and designer Samantha Walker as well as guest designer for American Crafts and in March for GCD Studios. I have also had publications in Scrapbook Trends, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook & Cards Today, The Big Book of Scrapbooking Pages, some online magazines and soon I will have my first publication with Scrapbooks Etc. I am so excited to be guest designing for Scrapbook Circle…yummy kits for sure!

What did you like best about the January Kit?
I loved all of the kraft patterned paper inside the kit. It made it so easy to created some fun layouts because the kraft papers. They go so well with everything.

Where do you do your crafting?
I share an office with my husband although, if you ask him, he would say that sharing is not quite the right word for it. He does have a cubby hole in the closet and often reminds me of how little space he has. I can’t help it…a girl needs room for all of her crafty goodies!

Who/What is your favorite person/thing to document in your layouts?
I have to say kids. Whether it is my own kids or my nieces and nephews…nothing gets the creativity flowing as some cute pics of my favorite scrapping subjects.

What do you like to do best when you aren’t scrapbooking?
When I am not scrapbooking, you can often find me outdoors. I love camping, hiking, 4 wheeling and fishing. These activities are the best when I get to do them with my family. We spend huge amounts of time outdoors, especially in the summer.

Introducing ...

Throughout the month of January we will be introducing

our 2012 Design Team members to you.

You will enjoy getting to know them as they share 5 interesting facts about themselves and 1 secret that no one else knows .... (that is, until now!)

Today we would like to introduce to you ....

My name is from a Danish grandmother but is originally Italian. My Grandmother's Father was a painter and once painted an Italian lady by the name of Guiseppa. We think he might have a had a crush on her because he named all of his children with the middle name of Guiseppa including the boys!
My family and I enjoy college football. I have had season tickets to the BYU Cougars football games for the last 8 years. I enjoy going to the games with my family.
I enjoy spending time outdoors. Our family usually has 5-6 camp-outs a year. This allows us to spend a couple of weeks every year in the mountains. We like to hike, fish and ride 4-wheelers.
A few years ago I decided I wanted to be more healthy and set out to lose weight. I was successful and lost 65 pounds. I have managed to mantain my new weight for over two years.
I carry a rare genetic disease gene called SCIDS, othewise known as "The Bubble Boy Disease". The disease is recessive in me, but can be passed to my children. I didn't know I was a carrier until I had my third child. He was a dominate carrier of the gene and passed away when he was three.

Fact that nobody else knows:

Ok .... I am a little obsessive compulsive, but I would like to think that everybody has a little bit of that in them. I find myself rotating my underwear, dish towels, dish cloths, towels and things that are commonly used a lot just so they all get even wear. Weird, I know, but I think there are probably worse things to be obsessive about.

Imaginisce Winter Challenge and New DT Introductions!

It is the first of the year and Imaginisce wants to start it off right with a Winter Challenge! We have got some fabulous ideas for you from some of the new DT members! So, here is how you can play along.

The theme for this month's challenge is:

WINTER WONDERLAND

Create any type of project (layout, card, altered, mini album, etc) that has a winter season theme to it. You can use whatever colors, patterns, etc you want but it must have a winter theme.

Remember that you must use at least 75% Imaginisce product on your project. You have until January 25th to have your entry uploaded into the link below and you'll be in the running for a current Imaginisce collection!

Just to help you out and give you an idea of what we're thinking for this challenge ... let's take a look at what some members from our 2012 Design Team came up with!

topping off that cute Mr. Snowman's head Rhonda used one of the cars from the collection!

First off, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope you have the best time with your friends and family this holiday season!

Second, I am so excited to announce that I will be on Little Yellow Bicycle's Cycling Team designing with the Paradise Collection. I am thrilled at the opportunity to use such inspiring and quality products. Little Yellow Bicycle has been a favorite of mine since they started in the scrapbooking Industry. So, I am going to share something with you that I have never done before...ever! This is so out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to give it a try. DIGITAL...yikes! Fancy Pants Filter Embellishments and layout!

I've got to be honest with you, when I first received my Filter Embellishments from Fancy Pants...I didn't quite know what to do with them. I knew if I got my brain turning that I could find something fun to create with them. Well, I have about depleted my Filter Embellishment stash from every Fancy Pants collection...I just love them! So this time around I decided to create something a little different. Now, I can't show you the whole project, just a sneak...but you can see the whole post on the Fancy Pants Blog as well as Vicki Chrisman's and Greta Hammond's projects! Fabulous ideas over there! I used the Saint Nick Filter Embellishments as well as the paper. Here is my sneak!

I also have last months blog project I would like to share. I created this project using the Summer's End Collection and mostly using the Design Embellishments...love these too!

I really have loved dabbling in the sewing world. I used to only use my sewing machine for scrapbooking, but now I am making all kinds of things! This time around I made this fun ruffled apron. I found the tutorial for this on Morgan Moore's Blog. Love this...so stinkin' cute! Here you go!

Announcing the Samantha Walker Creative Team call for the 2012 term. The Samantha Walker Creative team is a unique team experience where team members are given the opportunity to play with a variety of products...including digital kits, tangible paper and embellishments, fabric, rubber stamps, and more. Samantha Walker designs can be found through Creative Imaginations, Spellbinders, Unity Stamp Company, Silhouette, www.JessicaSprague.com (a digital kit site,) and Riley Blake Designs (fabric manufacturer.)

If you are a crafter who enjoys crafting in multiple areas of the craft industry, then this team is for you. If you are willing to learn and explore new ways of crafting, this team may also be the team for you.

To enter, all you need to do is to post your crafty blog address either on the Samantha Walker facebook page (www.facebook.com/samanthawalkerdesigns) or leave a comment right here on this blog post, and express your interest in joining the Samantha Walker creative team.

Your blog needs to show projects posted that are relevant to the craft industry which can be made with any materials of your choosing. It is not necessary to include Samantha Walker products (or similar products) in your entry, but it may be helpful in showing how you would work with such products.

The Samantha Walker Creative team is looking for people who have a passion for crafting, innovative ideas, a great way of explaining how they created a project, and those excited about sharing with others. Your blogs should reflect your love of crafting and sharing with others.

Team members will receive periodical shipments of a funtastic variety of products to play with. Team member responsibilities will include participating in a monthly blog hop. Team members will be invited to post any additional projects to their blog, and/or FB page, and/or crafting galleries, and/or submit them for publication, as their time and desire permits. There is no monthly minimum for projects created, except for participation in the monthly blog hop. It is hoped that team members would just enjoy creating with the products provided and enjoy sharing their ideas others.

Entries will be accepted between October 17th-November 30th, 2011. You have time to work on your blog and post new projects before the judging period begins. Judging will occur during the first week of December, and the team will be announced before the end of December. Creative Team term starts in January of 2012 and goes through December of 2012.

This year, there are only two slots to fill as a good portion of the 2011 team has opted to stay through the 2012 term.

Hey gals....it is that time of the month again and I am super excited about my project his month. You should have just arrived from the super funny Jennifer Ingle's Blog and if you just got here and want to start at the beginning, go to Samantha Walker's Blog.

Most of you that know me, know that my first crafting love is scrapbooking. Well, when I joined this team I got to use Samantha's scrapbooking paper from Creative Imaginations along with her stamps from Unity, fabric from Riley Blake Designs and her cutting files from Silhouette, wow...that is a lot. So this month I combined two of those, the paper and the fabric and this is what I came up with!

I love it! It was so fun making these fabric flowers and they added a lot of dimension to the layout, which I love on my layouts.

Here is your challenge:
Create something that has a school theme. It could be a card, mini album, pencil box, or a gift for your child's new teacher...anything you choose. Make sure to use at least some Fancy Pants products when making your beautiful creation. Then, post it on our Facebook wall between now, August 26, 2011 and Friday, September 2, 2011 September 9, 2011. It's that simple! (deadline extended!)

We will judge the projects and select one winner to receive a prize package. This winner will also have their creation featured on the blog. We will also randomly draw one winner from the remaining entries to receive a prize package.

Summer Project with Pebbles Inc.

Today on the Pebbles Inc Blog Kryssi Ng and I are sharing some projects displaying what we did over the summer. Our family does a lot of camping. Most of our family outings are camping...so I have a lot of photos of us living in up in the great outdoors. Here is my project. It is that time of year whether we like it or not....back to school! I know I have mixed feelings about it and so do my kids. We live in Wellsville Utah where are winters have been way too long. It only started warming up in July. We dealt with a lot of rain, wind and yes...snow in June. So, the kids and I have felt a little ripped off when it comes to summer. I think the only thing that is making me happy about the back to school thing is the fabulous scrappy stuff that comes out. I have a card here that I made using Samantha Walker's stamps from Unity...this one is the A-Z Coordinates. Love these school themed stamps.

Creating Keepsakes Summer Fun & Travel

I had one of my layouts picked up for this issue and let me tell you...it never gets old seeing your hard work published in top notch magazines. So fun! This layout is of our trip to California, going down Lombard Street.

Fancy Pants Product Spotlight...Baby Mine Jouranling Embellishments

Also, I would like to share last months blog project. I created this fun and cute explosion box! Here is how I did it!

So, step one is to gather all your supplies.

You will need:

Fancy Pants supplies:
Baby Mine: Adore patterned paper
Baby Mine: Precious patterned paper
Baby Mine: Little One patterned paper
Baby Mine: Peek-A-Boo patterned paper
Baby Mine: Rub-ons
Baby Mine: Design Embellishments
Baby Mine: Buttons
Baby Mine: Chipboard Banners
Beach Babe: Trim

Other supplies:
trimmer
scoring tool
glue
double sided tape
paper clips
corner rounder
ink

Next, you want to take 3 of the sheets of patterned paper and cut them down to these measurements:
9x9 inches, 8 5/8 x 8 5/8 inches, 8 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches

Score each of these sheets of paper, on all four sides, as followers:
9x9 inch sheet you will score 3 inches from each side.
8 5/8 x 8 5/8 you will score 2 7/8 inches from each side
8 1/4 x 8 1/4 you will score 2 3/4 inches from each side.

Following the lines you scored, cut the corners off of all three pieces of patterned paper and then ink the edges.

Next you want to adhere all three pieces together, using the biggest piece on the bottom, then the smaller piece, then finishing with the smallest on the top. I used the double sided tape to adhered the pieces. Remember to only put the tape in the center square and you don't need tape on the back of your largest piece. The largest piece will be the outside of your box.

It should look like this when you have them all adhered together.

Now for the lid for your box. Take your last sheet of patterned paper and cut it down to 6 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches. Now score it 1 1/2 inch from all four edges.

Then you will need to score all four corners of your lid as shown in the picture below.

Fold all of your score lines inward to make the lid come together. You notice that it will naturally fold into a lid.

Next you want to adhere the folds together and by using paper clips, you can keep your lid from coming apart while it dries.

Oh looky ... now you have this cute explosion box!

Next you will want to decorate your cute explosion box. I chose to use the collection Baby Mine to make and decorate mine. As you can see in the pictures below, I added a little treat in the center of the box. Kind of fun ... don't ya think? Now, after the treat is gone, you have this cute box you can use for a mini album. I left spaces open for pictures and I also embellished some of the spaces for fun.

I really love the diversity of products I get to use being on Samantha's team. This month we are focusing on her fabric lines from Riley Blake Designs. For my project, I decided to use her new Wanna Be A Cowboy 2 fabric. I made this little friendship bag, perfect for a gift bag, but is also part of the gift itself. I got the tutorial here, so if you would like to try this...it is super easy! Here is my friendship bag.

I also added a fun little yo yo flower with a button in the middle. I am really excited to share this with someone. I am thrilled that it turned out so cute.

June's Fancy Pants Product Spotlight

It has been a month since I shared this project on the Fancy Pants Blog...so now I get to share it here. The product spotlight was rub ons. Here is what I did.

"If you are anything like me, when I first started using rub-ons, I only used them one dimensionally. Sometimes I felt like I was pretty limited as to what I could do with them. There are now so many ways to use them and so many ideas out there, but my favorite thing to do with them, is give them dimension. Yes ... like every layout I do, I broke out the pop dots on this one. I decided to back my rub-ons on some cardstock, cut them out and pop them up. Flat pages aren't for me and I think there is a misconception that rub-ons can't be dimensional. You will find out that on my layout, I have several different dimensions. I love that I was able to create a fun scene with clusters of rub-ons from the Beach Babe rub-on set and make the layout come to life!"

We're thrilled to announce the call for the Pebbles 2011-2012 Design Team! We're looking for talented and committed designers who love to create with Pebbles products. To apply, email pebblesincdt@gmail.com with the following information:

A single paragraph telling us about yourself. When did you start scrapbooking? How would you define your style? What do you love about Pebbles products? Are you on any other design teams? Have you been published before? Be sure to include your name and hometown. Help us to get a good sense of who you are and your paper crafting history. Please note that previous design team experience is not required.
A link to your online gallery and/or blog so that we may see samples of your various paper crafting projects. If you have a scrapbook resume we’d love to see that as well.
A scan or photo of 2 scrapbook layouts, 1 card, and 1 other type of project that showcases your style. We’d prefer to see projects that utilize Pebbles products, however all applications will be considered.

The deadline for all applications to be received is July 29, 2011. I have been looking forward to this hop, for one reason in particular. Stamps! They have always been my week link in the scrapping world and this hop has challenged me to get to know my stamps a little better.

Yep...it is that time of the month where I get to show all of you how much fun it is being on the Fancy Pants Design Team. There collections are rockin'! We have got lots of family camping trips, outings and vacations planned, but I love it!

Pebbles Pagemaps layout on the blog today!

What a combo! I love Pagemaps, combined with Pebbles Inc procucts....makes for a fun layout! This layout is on their blog today along with a layout by Christa Paustenbaugh. To see Christa's layout. head on over to the Pebbles Blog.

I took these pictures of my nephew a few years back at our family reunion. This is Caleb and he is Autistic. Caleb lives a very carefree life, he has no worries or cares in the world, but Caleb loves to be free to explore. Even though we often don't know what he is thinking, it is unmistakable that when he gets outdoors ... he is happy and free. Most of us would complain when we accidentally dirty our favorite shirt or pair of jeans, but Caleb loves it. This makes him happy. This was a really fun sketch to use and in combination with the yummy Pebbles products, I was able to make a happy layout for a happy camper!

Now for my projects.....

I created this card using Samantha's new, Wanna Be a Cowboy 2 and also old Wanna Be a Cowboy 1. The new line was made to coordinate with the old, so this is a combination of the two. The fabric on the is card if from her new Wanna Be a Cowboy fabric and everything else is from the old paper collection from Creative Imaginations.

Next, I made ruffles for this shirt using Samantha's Wanna Be a Cowboy 2 from Riley Blake Designs. Now, please be gentle with me. I am not the best seamstress and this was definitely a stretch for me, but I wanted to do this. I am open to trying new things and so this is a start for me. Being on this team has made my love for fabric grow. Now, I am using it for more than just my layouts!

This is my beautiful daughter and she, once again, is benefiting from me being on Samantha's team!
